Depressing-no realistic i

[ For Rite Aid ] Posted March 8th, 2010 by aggy [shift supervisor] in

Work Culture:
depressing-no realistic idea how long tasks take,Think that forcing employees to give each other thank you(raptar)cards motivates them,it doesnt-Give quarterly and yearly bonuses to everyone in stores if sales and customer service goals are met or exceeded. They don't have to be large ,Eckerd gave everyone 10.00 gift cards one year if we reached our goals.Employees still talk about how nice that was.Everyone worked together to achieve our goals for the one more item promo-and EVERYONE in winning stores were rewarded not just one person every 3 months based on opinions and not verifiable data.
Position Title:
shift supervisor
Job Security:
as long as you are willing to turn your brain off when you come to work, you can last forever
Career Growth:
little-turned down 2 jobs with competitor because I was told would be promoted-Job title was eliminated even though I do an asst mgr job we are treated like 2nd class people because we don't have "manager" in our title
Manager:
immediate mgrs are usually great, they get as depressed as their employees,we all work together,
Overall Comments:
if you need a job,but don't look for being able to manage effectivley-your only allowed to do exactly what your told to do You will be a compliance officer, not a manager
